Build your checklist

Answer five questions and get a checklist made for you. Nothing is stored unless you ask for it by email.

1. Are you hosting as a private person or through a company?
2. Do you have good photos of the place ready?
3. Is the place already listed on another channel?
4. Do you know which bank account payouts should go to?
5. Have you checked the short-term rental rules where the place is?

Your checklist

Answer all five questions and your checklist appears here.

How to list your place on Vrbo

  1. 1

    Start at host.vrbo.com

Enter the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. Vrbo shows an earnings estimate and takes you on to registration. If you already have an account, log in there.

  2. 2

    Create an account

Create an account or log in. The account is yours, also when you later connect the place to a channel manager.

  3. 3

    Describe the place

Property type, address, bedrooms, beds, bathrooms and amenities. Vrbo guests often travel as a family or group, so beds and bathrooms count for more than on other channels.

  4. 4

    Photos and text

Vrbo requires at least six photos, a headline of at least 20 characters and a description of at least 400 characters for listings connected to a channel manager. Photograph every room and answer what a family wonders about: beds, bathrooms, kitchen, parking, distances and what suits children.

  5. 5

    Prices, rules and booking method

Price per night, cleaning fee, cancellation terms and house rules. Choose whether bookings are accepted automatically or after a request.

  6. 6

    Payouts and identity

Register your account number and verify your identity. Vrbo collects payment from the guest and pays you out; you'll see the payout timing in your account.

  7. 7

    Publish

Read through the listing and publish. Vrbo may ask you to confirm details before it goes live, so keep an eye on your email.

  8. 8

    Connect to Gjestfri

The Vrbo connection is made with your username and password at our connectivity partner, never with us. Vrbo confirms the connection manually, which takes a couple of working days.

Once the listing is live

Connect it to Gjestfri and we keep the calendar, prices and guest messages together across channels, so you avoid double bookings.
